Appleton, Tracy & Co., Waltham, Mass., model 1857 "Appleton, Tracy & Co.", 18 size, 15 jewel gilt plate movement with lever escapement and undersprung gold balance in a coin silver hunting case with a pair of recumbent sheep engraved on the front cover, roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #6470, c1858.
CONDITION:
CASE: Dent, band, at front cover hinge; Minor dents and dings; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engraving with moderate wear; Hinge plugs absent; Bow replaced; Pusher worn. DIAL: Numerous hairlines; Filled chip at center of seconds bit. HANDS: Replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Minor spotting and corrosion; Screws and balance endstone setting reblued. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
